“I am thankful for my struggle because without it, I wouldn’t have stumbled across my strength.”- Alex Elle

I knew that I wanted to talk about reasons why I am grateful, but I also knew that I didn’t want to do the ever so cliche ’30 Days of Thankfulness’ for the month of November either. Perhaps it’s just me (maybe I am the crazy one here), but it seems that those writings have become THE thing to do and many times, the lists that I read have become generic. The popularity of it has caused it to lose it’s effectiveness. Not to mention, gratitude, at least for me, is a sense of discipline, a way for me to learn, and the best journey of growth in my life.

With that being said, I did a bit of soul searching to really dig deep and find the things that I am TRULY grateful for. For me, that meant finding appreciation for the smaller and more complex things in life.

–BIGGEST–

I AM GRATEFUL FOR THE STRUGGLES!

When we hear that word ‘struggle,’ it often makes us cringe and want to cower in a corner somewhere, hiding from what we perceive to be an impending doom. Lol why though?
Just like taxes and death being the only two GUARANTEES in our lives, struggles keep the score so close that they could almost be a guarantee as well. I don’t care who you are – wealthy or poor, gorgeous or insecure, able or disabled – you are human, you are not invisible nor untouchable to struggles in your life. I’m not only talking about the huge extravagant life-changing struggles, but also the smallest ones!

~HERE’S A LITTLE GLIMPSE~

For the longest time, I had a serious problem with cooking. I would literally burn water!! Yes, you heard that right- burn water! I almost threw my hands up, called it quits, and ate the tastiest fast food for the rest of my life! (LOL!) That was until I picked up a cookbook that my Italian grandmother had and gave it a go. With a bit of persistence and a whole heck of a lot of trial and error, I’m proud to say that I am now a cooking fool AND I ACTUALLY LOVE IT! For that struggle, I am grateful!!

Even more, it’s super stressful to us when we end up with car troubles. Whether it be an issue with the engine or a simple flat tire, being stuck on the side of the road is one of the most embarrassing, anxiety filled times we can encounter. Fortunately for me, I grew up building racing cars with my father and doing so has only made me more intrigued and wanting to learn everything under the sun about doing repair work on my vehicles. For that struggle and lesson, I am grateful!!

❤ Life Is A Beautiful Struggle! ❤

Struggles are truly the backbone to who we are today. Learning to appreciate the them and use it to your advantage for growth, is absolutely essential. Struggle allows us to understand ourselves better, our limitations, and our potential.

Struggles are a good thing and for them, I am truly grateful!! Stay humble and always be grateful!!

Christmas is almost here! Wait, did I just say that right? It is the beginning of November already; how did that even happen? Where did the year even go to?!?!! Am I the only one who feels this way (lol)?

Well, something that we cannot escape is time and ready or not, here come the holidays!

While I was out and about the other day, I decided that since my Halloween finds at my local Dollar Tree were so great, I would stop in again to see what finds I could pick up to get our Christmas started. And let me tell you, the steals under this tree were phenomenal!

From items to decorate your tree to an amazing collection of house decor, Dollar Tree had everything that I needed to make a dent in my decorating needs!

We have a tradition in our home to put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving. I cannot wait to use some of the new items we picked up and then kick off December with some of the most amazing craft projects that any toddler would love! (Keep an eye out for that post because they will be epic!)

Save money under your tree this year and check out DollarTree.com for all of your Christmas party and decorating needs!
